On Wednesday 21 January, London Universities & Colleges Athletics will be holding a cross country event on the Common. Runners will follow a circular route starting at the lower field by the Ecology Centre, over the hills near the Croydon side of the Common and back towards the Ecology Centre.

A new test scrape has been dug on the Mill House sub-site part of the Common, to the north of the Ecology Centre. A new bin has been installed on the footpath linking Brookmead Road and Redhouse Road (see photo). This is initially for a trial period. If the bin gets used for dumping domestic rubbish, it will be removed. The bin near Southampton Gardens has been removed because it was being used for dumping domestic rubbish.
