Various footpaths over the Common are undergoing repair at the moment. Many footpath areas suffer during the winter months with all the rain and heavy traffic, leaving them boggy and awkward to use. Therefore stretches of footpath on 7. islands, 1. island and Mill House sites are all undergoing repair.

On 18th January 2016 Merton Council will commence work on a shared-use (pedestrians and cyclists) path alongside Croydon Road between Carshalton Road and the Borough boundary with Croydon.
