To facilitate large vehicle access, Mill House Ecology Centre car park will be closed on the 16th and 17th July.

A new bin has been installed on the footpath linking Brookmead Road and Redhouse Road (see photo). This is initially for a trial period. If the bin gets used for dumping domestic rubbish, it will be removed. The bin near Southampton Gardens has been removed because it was being used for dumping domestic rubbish.
For safety reasons, a row of four Poplar trees growing adjacent to the Croydon Road shared footpath will be felled in the near future.
Haymaking is scheduled to start next week. For operational reasons the Ecology Centre Car Park will be closed on the mornings of 17 & 18 July
Two new benches have been installed around 7 islands pond, replacing old benches. Another bench has been removed because it was coming to the end of its safe life span.
Last Summer SGN undertook gas mains replacement works on the Common. Some of the required reinstatement was delay until this Spring. Towards the end of April the following works will be carried out on the land parcels shown on the attached map. Parcel A: Replace footpath and damaged signage.
