Haymaking On The Common
Depending on weather conditions, hay-cutting will start on 15th July.
To facilitate large vehicle access, Mill House Ecology Centre car park will be closed on the 16th and 17th July.

Car Park Barrier Repair
The car park height barrier was recently damaged by an unknown vehicle. This is due to be repaired on 16/6/2026. To facilitate this work the car park will be closed during its repair.
Footpath resurfacing
Over the next week two footpath sections will be resurfaced to help with muddy conditions in winter.
New Benches
Two new benches have been installed around 7 islands pond, replacing old benches. Another bench has been removed because it was coming to the end of its safe life span.
Roadside Tree Safety Inspection
Currently all roadside and boundary trees are being surveyed. Data gathered for each tree will be used to determine future tree safety management works. To facilitate the survey, some trees have been numbered with white temporary spray paint to act as reference points for the surveyor.
Footpath Works
In the near future the footpath running from the corner of Croydon Road, by the BP garage, to the bottom of Galpins Road will be upgraded. The route is shown on the attached plan and will involve re-surfacing the section of path indicated by the dashed line and surfacing the length shown as a solid…
