Beehive Bridge, Commonside East
For several months water has been seeping from the Common onto the highway. A Thames Water pipe runs under the Common near to where the water is emerging. Officers are of the view that this is the likely source of the leak. Thames Water has tested the water ponding on the road and advised that it is not coming from one of their assets.

The Leader of Merton Council and Chair of the Conservators have contacted Thames Waters’ CEO and requested a full and thorough inspection of the main to determine whether its structural integrity has been compromised.
25 April Update
Thames Water has now confirmed that their 24″ main is leaking. Remedial work is scheduled to start next week. In order to facilitate access to the main, a number of small trees and other vegetation will have to be cleared and a short section of the roadside post and rail fencing removed.
