Mitcham Common Summer 2026 Work Programme

Last Summer SGN undertook gas mains replacement works on the Common. Some of the required reinstatement was delay until this Spring. Towards the end of April the following works will be carried out on the land parcels shown on the attached map. Parcel A: Replace footpath and damaged signage. Depending on weather conditions, hay-cutting will start on 15th July. To facilitate large vehicle access, Mill House Ecology Centre car park will be closed on the 16th and 17th July.

Over the next few weeks, selected areas of bramble will be cut. Areas included are on Bidders, Mill House, 7 islands and Gunsite subsites. This will facilitate the regeneration of grassland.
